Orders & Shopping
How do I place an order? +
Browse our shop, add items to your cart and complete checkout. You'll receive a confirmation email with your order number within minutes. For custom orders, use the Custom Order page instead.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept all major cards (Visa, Mastercard), bank transfer, and online payment via Netopia Payments. Cash on delivery is available for orders under 500 RON within Brașov. TimberCoins discounts are applied at checkout.
Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it? +
If the order hasn't entered production, we can modify or cancel it — contact us within 24 hours at comenzi@thetimbertale.ro. Once production has started on custom or made-to-order items, cancellation is no longer possible.
Do you offer invoices for companies? +
Yes. At checkout, tick "I need a company invoice" and fill in your CUI and billing details. Invoices are issued within 24 hours of order confirmation.
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you deliver? +
We deliver nationwide across Romania via Fan Courier, Cargus, or Sameday — depending on item size and your location. For large or fragile furniture pieces, we arrange dedicated transport. International shipping is available for Tiny Tales and smaller items — contact us for a quote.
How much does shipping cost? +
Standard courier: 18–25 RON for small items. Free shipping on orders over 300 RON (standard products). Tiny Tales: free shipping over 60 RON, otherwise 15–20 RON. Large furniture: quoted individually at checkout or by email.
How long does delivery take? +
In-stock items: 2–5 working days. Made-to-order items (most of our furniture): 3–8 weeks from confirmed order, plus delivery. Tiny Tales local pickup: 2 working days in Brașov, 3 days in other cities.
Can I pick up locally in Brașov? +
Yes — free local pickup from our workshop. For Tiny Tales, you can also pick up from a partner café of your choice. You'll receive a notification when your order is ready for collection.
Custom Furniture
How does the custom order process work? +
Submit your request via the Custom Order page with dimensions, material preferences, photos or a Pinterest board. We'll reply within 3 working days with a design concept and quote. Once you approve, pay a 30% deposit and we begin production.
What is the minimum price for a custom order? +
Smaller custom pieces (wall shelves, small tables, decorative items) start from around 400 RON. Full furniture commissions (beds, wardrobes, dining tables) start from 1,200 RON. You'll receive an exact quote before committing.
Can I include smart features in a custom order? +
Yes. Our smart furniture add-ons include wireless Qi charging pads, ambient LED lighting with dimmers, USB-A/C hubs, sensor-activated drawers, and call buttons for commercial use. Mention this in your request.
What if I'm not happy with the design concept? +
No problem — the first concept is free. You can request changes and we'll revise. If after two rounds of revisions we're not aligned, there's no obligation to proceed and no charge for the concept phase.
Returns & Guarantees
What is your return policy? +
Standard in-stock items: 14-day right of return in original, undamaged condition. You cover return shipping costs. Custom-made items are non-refundable once production begins. Tiny Tales are non-returnable (personalized items). See our full Returns Policy.
Do your products come with a guarantee? +
All new furniture comes with a 12-month craftsmanship guarantee. Refurbished / Revival pieces carry a 6-month guarantee. Tiny Tales carry a 30-day guarantee against manufacturing defects. Smart furniture electronic components follow manufacturer warranty (typically 12 months).
What if my item arrives damaged? +
Document the damage with photos at the time of delivery (note it on the courier's receipt if possible) and email us at comenzi@thetimbertale.ro within 48 hours. We'll arrange a replacement, repair or refund — whichever is most appropriate.
Membership & TimberCoins
What is TimberCoins? +
TimberCoins (TC) is our loyalty currency. You earn 1 TC for every 10 RON spent in our shop. 1 TC = 0.25 RON discount. They can be applied at checkout. They don't expire as long as your account is active.
How does the referral program work? +
The first 900 members receive a unique referral code. Purchases made through your code earn you Referral TimberCoins at your tier rate (5%, 10% or 15% of the purchase value). At 2000 Referral TC (= 500 RON), you can cash out to your bank account. Remaining TC can be used as discounts.
Do Tiny Tales purchases earn TimberCoins? +
No — Tiny Tales are a direct social contribution. Because 100% of the contribution goes toward social projects with minimal overhead, we don't apply the TC loyalty mechanic to these purchases. Referral commissions also don't apply to Tiny Tales.
How do I cash out my Referral TimberCoins? +
In your Member Dashboard, click "Cash Out" when you have at least 2000 Referral TC. Enter your IBAN and we'll transfer the equivalent amount (500 RON per 2000 TC) within 3 working days after verification.
Community & Social Mission
Who can submit a project to the Community platform? +
Registered NGOs, schools, kindergartens, civic initiative groups, and individuals or families with demonstrated financial need. You'll need to create an account with supporting documents. We review and approve accounts within 3 working days.
What is the Annual Community Grant? +
Once a year, we run a public competition for community furniture projects. The winning project is fully built and delivered by The Timber Tale at zero cost. Selection criteria: social impact, feasibility, genuine need, and community backing. Deadline: December 31 each year.
How can my company partner with The Timber Tale for CSR? +
We offer several CSR partnership formats: named sponsorship of a Community project, corporate gifting via Tiny Tales, team-building workshop sessions at our atelier, and joint social impact initiatives with reporting. Contact us at hello@thetimbertale.ro to discuss.
Where does The Timber Tale's profit go? +
As a certified social enterprise under Romanian Law 219/2015, we commit to reinvesting a minimum of 90% of profit into our social objectives: educational workshops, youth grants, community furniture projects, environmental initiatives and employee development. Annual impact reports are published on the Blog.
